Main actions undertaken since 1998
AG of Cherbourg 1998 ( l’AG de l’Alpe d’Huez 2006 )
Reminder: May 1980 : creation of the Pomme d’Or in Rouen, 1st international TOI competition to be organized
May 1991: The first TOI National Cup is organized in Viry Chatillon
May 1998: 1st TOI French National Championship officially organized in Toulouse, France
May 1999: 2nd French National Championship organized in Cherbourg (Normandy). Club representatives elect to stay within the French Federation and to promote the development of TOI. A TOI National Sports Commission is created
Sept. 1999: First specific TOI seminar. The Commission elects to gather all TOI judges, choreographers and coaches in order to define a new set of rules and judging criteria.
Sept. 2000: Definition of the Choreographic Exercise by judges, choreographers and coaches gathered in Lyon for their yearly seminar
May 2002: First test of the Choreographic Exercise in the Elite category.
April 2002 : First international TOI official meeting with representatives from Spain, Russia, the United States and France
Sept.2002 Meeting in Paris to define the agenda of the first international seminar between France and the US.
Sept. 2003 1st International Seminar with Judges, Choreographers and Coaches, with representatives from the USA, Spain, Italy and France (Russia being excused), organized by the French Federation in Toulouse. The participants define a new set of rules and judging criteria, to be used at international level.
Nov. 2003 Meeting in Paris with Ron Dei Cas to officialize the first international set of rules for TOI (Dei Cas - Gautun- Carles-Berlot), with a possibility to include the Choreographic Exercise at international level.
2004 -2005 Gérard Gautun, Chairman of Synchronized Skating and TOI by the French Federation, officializes the distinction between Synchro and TOI at the Governing Council in Toulon. A specific budget will be allotted to TOI.
June 2005: The Choreographic Exercise is proposed as an option to the teams competing in the International TOI competition held in Burlington, VT (USA)
Dec. 2 to 5, 2005 2nd TOI International Seminar in Toulouse. Creation of the TOI International Coordination Committee (TOIICC)
April 22nd, 2006, First meeting of the TOIIICC in Nice
June 24th, 2006, National governing Council in l’Alpe d’Huez, creation of the French National TOI Committee
Oct. 12 to 15 Oct 2006 3rd International Theatre On Ice Seminar (Boston Massachusetts), organized by US Figure Skating TOI.
